Ecopeace Inclusion Hub is being inaugurated in
partnership with Lilian Special School as a space to amplify the voices and experiences
of children with disabilities in climate action. Children with disabilities face challenges
during extreme heat and other climate-related impacts, yet their experiences and
perspectives are often missing from conversations about climate change. The Inclusion
Hub will provide them with a platform to share their experiences, creative expressions
and ideas, while reminding the wider community that everyone has a role in protecting
nature and responding to climate change.
As part of the initiative, the Ecopeace Inclusion Hub will support the creation of a
climate-friendly garden within the school premises, providing students with an
opportunity to participate directly in caring for nature and learning through action. The
programme will also invite the wider public to visit and participate in a Disability Fest,
where students will showcase their artwork, creative expressions, climate messages
and talents. Through art, dialogue, gardening and public engagement, the Ecopeace
Inclusion Hub seeks to build a community where disability inclusion and climate justice
go hand in hand, and every voice is valued in protecting our shared planet.
